IGL-Technologies Oy began on a cold winter day in a student apartment in Tampere. Alexander Ivaine, then an automation engineering student, grew frustrated with finding his car frozen nearly every morning; the manual timers on the heating posts simply couldn't keep up with an irregular schedule.
The business officially launched in 2009 when Alexander began developing a remote-control solution to replace manual timers. Born from a need to simplify life amidst an unpredictable calendar, the first prototype was a practical experiment involving a Nokia phone and a hand-soldered relay board. Over the years, the company has evolved into a comprehensive systems provider, offering intelligent EV charging solutions and automated billing services.
